SafeQuest Solano is a non-profit domestic violence
organization which is competing with other Domestic Violence Agencies across the country for $650,000 ($325,000 for Division 1 and $325,000 for Division 2) in grant money as a part of The Allstate Foundation’s Purple Purse Challenge, which will kick off September 28, 2016. SafeQuest Solano will compete in Division 2 for $325,000. The Challenge, an annual competition hosted on CrowdRise, is a public fundraising and awareness campaign that coincides with October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This is the 2nd year SafeQuest Solano has competed in the Challenge, which last year raised nearly $3.1 million for 161 domestic violence organizations throughout the United States.
Executive Director, Toni Dumont, states “We are excited about being part of the challenge again this year. This year marks our 40th Anniversary. Our services are vital for survivors and their families to transition to a safe environment. Our goal is to raise $20,000 this year”.
In its sixth year, the Purple Purse Challenge provides an opportunity for organizations that support domestic violence survivors to increase their donor base and push for vital funds. One hundred percent of proceeds go towards nonprofits that provide life-changing financial empowerment services to help domestic violence survivors build safer lives for themselves and their families.
